Core Values
Love God
Prizing and proclaiming the excellencies of Jesus is central to loving God. Jesus made this clear when he said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).
Love Each Other
Prizing and proclaiming the excellencies of Jesus is central to loving each other in the church. Jesus said, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another” (John 13:34). So, loving each other is rooted in experiencing Jesus’ love for us. Later, John would echo the same, “Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another” (1 John 4:11).
Love The World
Prizing and proclaiming the excellencies of Jesus is central to loving the world. For God Himself loved the world by giving His only begotten Son so that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16). We love the world by proclaiming this life giving message of Jesus.

King’s Church statement of faith
-
We believe that there is one and only one living and true God, an infinite intelligent Spirit. His name is Yahweh. He is the Maker and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth. He is inexpressibly glorious in holiness and worthy of all possible honor, confidence and love. In the unity of the Godhead there are three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are equal in every divine perfection and fulfill distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption.

a. The Father
We believe God the Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and all of human history according to the purposes of His grace. He is all powerful, all knowing, all loving, and all wise. God is Father in truth to those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ. He is fatherly in His attitude toward all men.

b. The Son
Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Jesus perfectly revealed and did the will of God. He took upon Himself human nature with its demands and necessities and identified Himself completely with mankind. Yet, he did so without sin. He lived a sinless life, died a substitutionary death, was raised from the dead, ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God. He is the one and only Mediator, fully God, fully man, by whom people are reconciled to God. He will return in power and glory to judge the world and consummate His redemptive mission. He now dwells in all believers through His Holy Spirit as the living and ever present Lord.

c. The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, fully divine. He inspired holy men of old to write the Scriptures. Through illumination He enables men to understand truth. He exalts Christ. He convicts men of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He calls men to the Saviour, and effects regeneration. At the moment of regeneration He baptizes every believer into the Body of Christ. He cultivates Christian character, comforts believers, and bestows the spiritual gifts by which they serve God through His church. He seals the believer unto the day of final redemption. His presence in the Christian is the guarantee that God will bring the believer into the fullness of the stature of Christ. He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service.

We believe the Bible was written by men divinely inspired, and that it is a perfect treasure of heavenly instruction. God is its author, salvation is its purpose, and truth without any mixture of error is its content. The Bible reveals the principles by which God will judge us. Therefore it is, and shall remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard for testing all human conduct, creeds, and opinions. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.

We believe that man is the special creation of God, made in His own image. He created them male and female as the crowning work of His creation. We believe that God created human beings in holiness, under his perfect law, for the purpose of intimate worship and fellowship with him. However, by voluntary transgression, humanity fell from that holy and happy state. As a result, all people are now sinners, not by force but by choice. By nature, humanity now lacks the holiness required by God’s law, is actively inclined to evil, and separated from a relationship with God. Therefore, they are under just condemnation to eternal ruin, without any defense or excuse.

We believe the salvation of sinners is completely by grace through faith; through the mediatorial offices of the Son of God. By the appointment of the Father, the Son freely took our nature upon himself, yet without sin. He perfectly honored the divine law by his personal obedience. Through his death on the cross, he made a full atonement for our sins, dying in our place as a substitute. He took our sin upon himself and satisfied the wrath of God in our place. Having risen from the dead, he is now enthroned in heaven, where he makes intercession for all believers. Jesus now unites in his wonderful person the tenderest sympathies with divine perfections. In every way, he is qualified to be a suitable, compassionate, and all-sufficient Savior.

We believe justification is the great gospel blessing which Christ secures to those who believe in him. Justification includes the pardon of sin and the promise of eternal life on principles of righteousness. By grace, God declares those who trust in his Son to be righteous. This is not because of any righteous works we have done, but only through faith in the Redeemer's blood. By virtue of that faith, Jesus’ perfect righteousness is freely imputed to us by God. At the moment of justification, sinners are instantly brought into a state of most blessed peace and favor with God, and every other blessing needed for time and eternity is secured.

We believe all who receive Christ and believe in His name are adopted as the children of God. They are brought into God’s family and enjoy the freedom and privileges of being his children. They inherit his name, receive the spirit of adoption, and have access to the throne of grace with boldness. As God’s children, they are enabled to cry. “Abba, Father.” They receive compassion, protection, and provision from God, being disciplined by him as a good and loving father. Yet, they are never cast off, but sealed to the day of redemption and inherit the promises as heirs of everlasting salvation.

We believe the blessings of salvation are made free to all by the gospel. It is the immediate duty of all to accept them by a heartfelt, penitent, and obedient faith. Nothing prevents the salvation of the greatest sinner on earth, except for one’s own inherent depravity and voluntary rejection of the gospel.

We believe sinners must be regenerated, or born again, in order to be saved. Regeneration consists of God giving a holy disposition to the mind. It is accomplished in a way beyond our comprehension by the power of the Holy Spirit, who uses the divine truth to secure our voluntary obedience to the gospel. The proper evidence of regeneration appears in the holy fruits of repentance, faith and newness of life.

We believe repentance and faith are sacred duties and inseparable graces, brought about in our souls by the regenerating Spirit of God. He convicts us of our guilt, danger and helplessness, and convinces us of the way of salvation by Jesus. This convicting and convincing results in turning to God with sincere sorrow, confession and supplication for mercy while also heartily receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as our Prophet, Priest and King. In so doing, we rely upon Jesus alone as the only and all-sufficient Savior.

We believe election is the eternal purpose of God, according to which he graciously regenerates, sanctifies, and saves sinners. It is perfectly consistent with human free agency, and includes all the means necessary to achieve God’s purpose. Election is a most glorious display of God's sovereign goodness, which is infinitely free, wise, holy and unchangeable. It completely does away with boasting in oneself and promotes humility, love, prayer, praise, trust in God, and active imitation of his free mercy. This truth encourages the use of human responsibility to the highest degree, such as fervent prayer and urgent evangelism. It can be confirmed by its effects in all who truly believe the gospel. Election is the foundation of Christian assurance and confirming it in regards to ourselves deserves the utmost diligence.

We believe sanctification is the process by which we grow in Christlikeness, according to his will. Sanctification is a progressive work. It begins in regeneration and is carried on in the hearts of believers by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit and the use of God’s appointed means. In this progressive work, the Holy Spirit, who is our sealer and comforter, uses the means of God’s word, his church, self- examination, self-denial, watchfulness, and prayer.

We believe that all true believers will endure to the end. Their persevering attachment to Jesus is the grand mark distinguishing them from superficial professors. A special providence watches over their welfare, and they are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation.

We believe in the one universal Church, which includes all of the redeemed of all ages, from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation. Jesus Himself is the all-supplying, all-sustaining, all-supreme, and all-authoritative Head of the church. We believe the ultimate purpose of the Church is to glorify God and enjoy him forever.
We believe it is God’s will that the universal Church find expression in local churches in which believers commit to one another as faith families. Local churches devote themselves to hear the Word of God proclaimed, engage in corporate worship, and practice the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. They commit to build each other up in Christlikeness and hold each other accountable through formative and corrective biblical discipline. We affirm that churches are to engage in the Great Commission through local and world evangelization and church planting. In the New Testament, the church is described through the use of images. It is a body in which each member should find a suitable ministry for the Spirit’s gifts. It is the household of God in which the Spirit dwells. It is the pillar and buttress of God’s truth in a truth-denying world. It is a city set on a hill so that men may see the light of its good deeds—especially to the poor—and give glory to the Father in heaven. It is also the flock of God in which elders (who are also called pastors or overseers) faithfully shepherd and deacons lovingly serve. These elders and deacons are the only scriptural officers of a church and their qualifications, claims and duties can be found in Paul’s letters to Timothy and Titus.

We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water, into the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Baptism shows forth in a solemn and beautiful emblem, our faith in the crucified, buried and risen Savior, as well as our union with Christ in our death to sin and resurrection to new life. Baptism is a prerequisite to the privileges of church membership and the Lord's Supper. We also believe the Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby the members of the church, through sacred use of bread and the cup, commemorate together the dying love of Christ. This is to be preceded always by earnest self-examination. We believe the Lord’s Supper is a remembering, proclaiming and unifying ceremony. Remembering, for we remember Jesus’ spilt blood and broken body on our behalf. Proclaiming, for we proclaim Jesus’ death until he comes. And unifying, for we partake as one body, doing away with any divisions among us.

We believe the first day of the week is the Lord’s Day. It is a Christian institution for regular observance. It commemorates the resurrection of Christ from the dead and should include exercises of worship and spiritual devotion, both public and private, in preparation for the rest that remains for the people of God. Activities on the Lord’s Day should be commensurate with the Christian’s conscience under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

We believe all Christians are under obligation to make the will of Christ supreme in our own lives. Through good works believers express thankfulness, strengthen assurance, build up the church, adorn their profession, silence opponents, and glorify God. Believers are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which he prepared for them before the foundation of the world. This is so they bear much fruit, glorifying the Father and proving to be Jesus’ disciples. In the family, we believe marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman before God in covenant commitment for a lifetime. Husband and wife are both made in God’s image, have equal value before God, and possess distinct roles in marriage.
The husband is to gently lead and sacrificially love his wife as Christ loved the church. The wife is to graciously submit to her husband as the church willingly submits to Christ. We also believe that children bear the image of God from the moment of conception. They are a blessing and inheritance from the Lord. Parents are to patiently lead their children in the ways of Christ by intentional instruction, gracious discipline, and consistent example based on biblical truth. Children are to honor and obey their parents for the glory of God and their ultimate good.
In addition, we believe Christians should oppose racism, every form of greed, selfishness, and vice, and all forms of sexual immorality, including adultery, homosexuality, and pornography. We should work to provide for the orphaned, the needy, the abused, the aged, the helpless, and the sick. We should speak on behalf of the unborn and contend for the sanctity of all human life from conception to natural death. We are to do all of these things for the glory of God and the good of all people.

We believe civil government exists by divine appointment, for the benefit and good order of human society. Government officials are to be prayed for, conscientiously honored, and obeyed; except only in things contrary to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only Lord of the conscience and the Prince of the kings of the earth.

We believe that there is a radical and essential difference between the righteous and the wicked. Only those justified by faith in the name of the Lord Jesus, and sanctified by the Holy Spirit, are truly righteous in God’s judgment. However, all those who continue in impenitence and unbelief are wicked in his sight and under the curse. This distinction among people remains both in and after death.

We believe God, in His own time and in His own way, will bring the world to its appropriate end. According to His promise, Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly in glory to the earth; the dead will be raised; and Christ will judge all men in righteousness. The unrighteous will be consigned to Hell, the place of everlasting punishment. The righteous in their resurrected and glorified bodies will receive their reward and dwell forever in Heaven with the Lord. All things will be made new, sin and death will be no more, they will be His people, and He will forever be their God.

King’s Church
Covenant
As God’s chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and a people for his own possession, we members of King’s Church commit to prize and proclaim the excellencies of Jesus for the glory of God and the good of all peoples.
We ask for God’s sovereign help to love him, love each other and love the world through the gospel of Jesus Christ. Having been brought by divine grace to repent of our sins and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do in the presence of God and this assembly, solemnly and joyfully covenant with each other.
Prizing and proclaiming the excellencies of Jesus is central to loving God, for he is the way, and the truth, and the life and no one comes to the Father except through him. We will seek to love God by adoring him for all he is and abiding in him in all our ways.
WE WILL SEEK TO LOVE GOD
-
Together, we will adore God by growing in our knowledge and affection for him and his word. We will depend upon God in prayer and worship him through personal, family and corporate spiritual disciplines.
-
Together, we will abide in Jesus and his word. We will do so by holding firm to the gospel and submitting to the Bible as the final rule and authority in our lives and the life of our church. We will also abide in God by pursuing holiness and depending on Him through prayer. We will offer our lives to God as a living sacrifice, pursuing Christlike character for his glory. Therefore, we will confess and repent of sin, turn from falsehood, and seek God’s help in abstaining from all practices that bring unwarranted harm to our bodies, faith and witness.
Prizing and proclaiming the excellencies of Jesus is central to loving each other, for we are to love one another as he has loved us.We will strive to gather in worship, grow in discipleship, and give of ourselves for the good of one another.
WE WILL SEEK TO LOVE EACH OTHER
-
Together, we will regularly gather to worship God by reading his word, singing his praises, offering our prayers, and receiving his word preached. We will faithfully uphold and practice believer’s baptism and Lord’s Supper, as well as church membership and discipline.
-
Together, we will seek to disciple one another, helping each other look to Jesus, become more like Him, and enjoy Him forever. We will pursue a unity that can only be explained by Jesus, where unlikely friends become loving family through the gospel. We will walk together as brothers and sisters, watching over one another with care and regularly praying for and with each other. We will rejoice when one of us rejoices and weep when one of us weeps. We will faithfully encourage and tenderly correct with God’s Word. We also commit ourselves to the discipleship of our children and the other children of the church. We will happily follow the leadership of our elders, desiring to help make their work a joy, for they equip us for this great work of discipleship and keep a close watch over our souls.
-
Together, we will cheerfully give of our time, talents and treasures for the good of one another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us by the Spirit, we will use them for the glory of God and the good of one another. We will strive to live as having all things in common by giving to the church, the poor, and the advancement of the Gospel across the globe
WE WILL SEEK TO LOVE THE WORLD
Prizing and proclaiming the excellencies of Jesus is central to loving the world, for God loved the world by giving his only begotten son. We will strive to share the gospel, serve our city, shine as lights, and send laborers to make the gospel known.
-
Together, we will lovingly and prayerfully seek the salvation of our family and friends by personally and corporately displaying and proclaiming the Gospel.
-
Together, as we have opportunity, we will do good to everyone in our midst so that they may see our good deeds and glorify our Father in heaven
-
Together, we will lead holy lives in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom we shine as lights in the world. We will keep our conduct honorable, so that others may see our good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.
-
Together, we will commit to see the advancement of the gospel to the ends of the earth. We will do this by making disciples who make disciples, as well as supporting the work of starting and strengthening churches locally, regionally and internationally
We acknowledge that in working out these principles, we will be guided by the King’s Church Statement of Faith and Constitution. May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all. Amen.
